How to generate a color palette
  1. In Color Palette Generator, choose between 2 and 10 colors and a direction such as Pastel, Earthy, or Triadic. Select Generate, or press Space while you are not typing in a control, to create another color combination.
  2. To build around an existing color, choose Edit and enter its HEX, RGB, or HSL value. Lock colors you want to keep, then generate supporting shades. Unlock a color when you want it to change again.
  3. Edit and reorder the colors to refine the palette. Undo and Redo let you compare changes. Check contrast before assigning text and background colors, or preview the palette as a brand.
  4. Choose a download for the job: PNG or SVG for a palette image, PDF for a reference sheet, ASE for compatible design software, CSV for a table, or CSS variables and Tailwind CSS v4 tokens for a website. PNG and SVG images can include Name + HEX labels.
  5. Name and save a palette to retain its colors, locks, and direction on this device. Share creates a link; a project JSON download keeps an editable backup that you can import later.

For a brand with an existing blue, enter that color, lock it, and try Analogous for nearby hues or a contrasting direction for an accent. Keep a lighter and a darker option for flexible use. Color harmony is a starting point; readability depends on the actual pairs you use.
