How scoring works

Scores use perceptual color difference (ΔE 2000). A perfect match is 100 points. Group challenges average the match for every color. Display settings can change what you see.

Train your eye for hue, saturation, and lightness
  1. Choose Match a color, Recall a color, or Against the clock for five rounds. Learn color skills walks through six skills in twelve rounds.
  2. Use the color field and sliders to match hue, saturation and lightness. Teaching rounds show only the adjustment being practiced, then introduce complementary, analogous, triadic and tetradic palettes.
  3. Recall mode reveals the target for five seconds; timed mode allows 30 seconds per round. After checking a match, read the feedback and choose Next color. Every target and guess appears in the final review.
  4. Choose Play again from your results for a fresh game, or try the daily challenge. Share challenge sends the same targets and settings; Copy score copies your completed result with a link to that challenge.

A hue can be close while its lightness is noticeably different. Feedback suggests making the match lighter, darker, more vivid, more muted, or adjusting its hue. Scores are a game measure, not a vision assessment.
